Vessel- "Court Of Lions"

If you're like me, sometimes you like your moody music to be dance flavoured. If you are indeed like me, for one thing, you're awesome don't ever change, and you should also probably check out this track from Vessel.

The song starts off with a very simple computer-generated beat, but progresses in complexity as well as danceability. That stripped down beat becomes something really adventurous and deep like it could be explored forever. For the song's run time it never once feels repetitive this is largely due to the moody nature of it, adding  a fearlessness to strip the song down to a fairly slow tempo more than once. It's that aspect of this type of music that keeps things interesting rather than tedious.

Order Of Noise is out now.

Father John Misty- “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings”

[audio:http://assets3.subpop.com/assets/audio/11398.mp3] Josh Tillman, formerly of Fleet Foxes, has released a single from his new project, Father John Misty. There are definite elements of his work with Fleet Foxes here, but it veers in a different direction. The song is instrumentally simple, employing some repetitive drum beats and lightly strummed guitars. The real appeal is the vocals and lyrics. Josh has a soft yet oddly haunting nature to his voice, which is in part due to the lyrics. Fever dream is the most apt way to describe them as they are intriguing, but do not make complete sense like only seeing the second half of a movie.

Father John Misty's latest album, Fear Fun, will be out via Sub Pop on May 1st. Scope the cover art below:

Arctic Monkeys- "R U Mine?"

Arctic Monkeys have released a new standalone single and video for the song “R U Mine?”. The track is generally just a fun pop song, but it's actually a memorable and catchy change of pace from the group's last album, Suck It and See.

The video is pretty light as well it features prominently front man Alex Turner and drummer Matt Helders goofing around in a car. Simple as it is there is something entertaining about that simplicity.

“R U Mine?” is available now on iTunes.
