Out tomorrow on Stones Throw is the new Jonti album, Twirligig. The dude sent me a download of his new album personally over a week ago, and it's been sitting on my to-listen list ever since.
I'm glad I finally got around to it, cuz this dude's approach to producing beats is a little mind-altering. he incorporates elements of hip hop, psychedelic pop, and electronic music. I'm catching whiffs of artists like the Beach Boys, J Dilla, Flying Lotus, and Animal Collective coming from every direction. And that's all on the track in the video above, "Firework Spraying Moon." To list off the numerous influences that color every track here would take hours. Best to just listen and enjoy.
