NYC duo Gemma share new track "See Me" ahead of third album 'Be About It'

NYC's Gemma will release a new album, Be About It, on May 1 (via Western Vinyl), marking their first full-length offering since 2019's Feeling's Not A Tempo. The duo of Felicia Douglass (Ava Luna, Dirty Projectors) and Erik Gundel have been busy with other projects in that time – Gundel's solo debut Level One Mage in 2022 and Ava Luna's self-titled LP from last year, to name just two – but Gemma continued on in the background, with unfinished ideas being revisited and demos being traded between them.

Today they release a third single from the record, "See Me," a gathering rush of shoegazey guitars and ratatat, jazz-inspired drumming. It follows last month's release of the title track and the breezy "Glad 2 Have U."

Listen to "See Me" below:

Says Douglass of the song:

"As an introvert I may not be easy to read initially, and I'm conscious of breaking down those walls. It deals with finding your own path towards opening up to someone who cares about you. Learning to trust others to see all facets of you can be a huge relief but it can take time."

You can also hear an early version of Be About It track "Keepsake" over on Bandcamp, released way back in July 2020 and inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement.

Be About It is out May 1. Pre-order here. Tracklisting below:
