Personal Trainer share wonky new single "Hole"

Today, the Dutch art rock band Personal Trainer have shared a new single, "Hole." Featured on their upcoming album Human Assholes, out September 4 via Bella Union, the new single comes with a fun, "live" music video — that is, if you are a shrimp — made by Hotel Modern.

Watch/listen to "Hole" below:

The new single is a clangy, wonky, almost nonsensical reflection of madness — a singer tripping over the coarse woodwinds, handclappers, and incessant guitars as he loses his sense of the world around him. "'Hole' was the shortest and fastest song on our new record Human Assholes, until I accidentally came up with the second half," says front man and songwriter Willem Smit via press release. "I wanted to try and throw in some sort of a 'moral to the story' in the middle of it, because I'd never done that."I'd say it's a happy sounding sad song aiming for gold."

Personal Trainer begin their promotional tour for Human Assholes this weekend, starting with appearances at mutliple summer festivals. This fall, they'll embark on a brief EU/UK tour. Tickets are available now.
