Jon Benjamin: Jazz Daredevil - Well, I Should Have...* (Teaser)

Comedian and actor Jon Benjamin has taken to the piano to record an album with a jazz trio. The only potential pitfall: he doesn't know how to play piano. Look out for Well, I Should Have...* when it drops November 27 on Sub Pop.

Ian William Craig - Cradle for the Wanting (Teaser)

Drone vocalist and tape musician Ian William Craig has a new album called Cradle for the Wanting out today via Recital; here is a preview of three tracks ("Each All in Another All," "Shipbreaking," and "Empty, Circle, Tremble").

Kye - Nice Weather for War (Teaser)

Graham Lambkin's Kye label has just released a compilation called Nice Weather for War, showcasing six compelling voices in modern avant-garde music. This video contains snippets of the previously unreleased pieces; enjoy!

Sigur Ros- “Ekki Múkk”

To everyone's excitement yesterday, including mine, Sigur Ros dropped a release date for a new album along with a track from said album. The LP's title is Valtari, and it's looking at a May release. The teaser track, "Ekki Múkk," is contained in the video above, and it's a bit of a stunner.

I'm not sure if we're still using the phrase "post-rock" to describe this band, but if we are, the crescendos they pump out are still some of the best in the genre. The rising and falling strings and vocals on this track are incredibly dynamic. The movements these sounds make are subtle and gentle, making the song feel like a warm embrace.

While the track doesn't seem to have an obvious structure or shape, it's still a pleasure to listen to, presenting one beautiful wave of vocals, strings, and piano after another.

Valtari, which translates to "steamroller" in English, will be out via XL on May 29th.

The Black Keys- "Lonely Boy"

A new video from the Black Keys in promotion for the duo's new single, "Lonely Boy." The track comes from the forthcoming album El Camino, which is set to drop December 6th via Nonesuch. These guys are pairing up with Danger Mouse again production-wise, and it's turning out some good results so far, obviously.
