You know R&B is taking hold of underground music when a band like Yeasayer is showing it off as an influence. While, on paper, it may come off as a bit of a surprise, it doesn't sound that alien in execution, and feels like a logical progression past the album they released a few years ago, Odd Blood. Yeah, I didn't care for that album much, but Yeasayer's experiments with electronics and vocal effects definitely feel a bit more focused, refined, and unique this time around.
Yeasayer's next album, Fragrant World, is looking at an August 21st release date.
